Wishes or Willpower
She ties it tighter
With a wish on her pursed lips
Murmuring fervently,
"Will it to be so."
Puddles
When we're born
We're all like puddles
Stranded in an enclosed space
And separated
From the celestial body that
Makes us whole
We have our own experiences
We may become fluid in the heat of the sun
We may freeze over and feel stuck
We will be driven through
And stepped on
Or covered chivalrously
To let beauty step over us
Unblemished
By our wet presence
In the end
We all return to our ocean
But it may take some time to get there
Missed Treats
What is sadder than a stale cookie?
A small confection
To bring a little joy
A little energy
Abandoned
Was it forgotten
In the cookie jar, or
Left intentionally
Because the eater
Felt undeserving?
